ritual
“Ritual” is a ceramic piece that seeks to question the polarity between functional and decorative. For that reason, I pose a critical view taking as a base element, a worn soup bowl that belongs to my grandmother and still keeps being a gift from her mother.
The idea of destroying to create, leads me to merge in this piece, two of the most important rituals for my grandmother: knitting and cooking. But by the nature of the object, you reach a point where both rituals are impossible and thus lead the viewer to face an object of critical design. In this order, they ended up having a piece of contemplation.
