Hello !
My name is Valentina Frías, I am a product and communication designer, with a focus on textile and fashion design from Bogotá, Colombia.

I love everything about food, vibrant colors, playing with my grandmother's closet, geckos, and eating spicy sweets.

I'm known as
Sometimes I consider myself more of an artist than a designer and other times more of a designer than an artist. In my processes I always tie myself to intuition and my childhood sensitivity, essential elements for the worlds that I am creating. Now I am immersed in collage, textile design, sustainability, creative direction and mixed media. Also, I am into the exploration of unconventional materials.
I am captivated by the world of food, art history, inheriting as a sustainable way of life and crafts. I have an almost obsessive relationship with vibrant colors and a great admiration for all the inventions that come from past decades. I enjoy writing, launching my ideas left and right. I am an expert in setting big creative challenges, in getting out of the comfort zone and the established.
During my apprenticeship, I have developed conceptualization skills, taking as a starting point the breaking of divisions between art and design, the utilitarian and the contemplative. I have skills in creating aesthetic universes, visual narratives, and the mastery of traditional textile techniques.
I want to have fun in everything I do, create from what is created and emphasize the importance of not forgetting who we are or where we come from.
